Go Noles!

Okay, I admit I know absolutely nothing about football. My husband typically watches one game a year, the Super Bowl, and I watch the commercials. But fortunately you don't have to know anything about football to replicate a logo in icing! This was a surprise cake from a sweet bride for a groom who's an FSU fan. Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing...I'll pretend to like football if it involves peanut butter and chocolate. :)

Silly Snake and Trendy Turtle

An old high school friend of mine contacted me through Facebook looking for someone last minute who could make two birthday cakes for her sons. Time had gotten away from her and she wasn't able to make the cakes for them like she would have liked. The boys were having a joint party at the zoo (fun!) so the older one was looking for a "cartoony snake" and the younger one was looking for a turtle. His mom told me his favorite colors are pink and purple, and she wanted me to make the turtle that color if possible. As a girl who was teased when I was little for loving the color blue, I loved that her son is still too young to listen to the nonsense that those are "girl colors"...and I loved even more that his mama was totally willing for her son to have a pink and purple cake!

 

The snake's eyes are jumbo marshmallows, his nose is chocolate chips,

and his tongue is marshmallow fondant!
